Excel | NtRsInWords – RsInWords – Rupees In Words – Figure To Inr

Those who are working with excel must have experienced mistakes while writing a figure in words. Banks, especially Indian banks, always ask to write the amount both in figures and in words.

I think sharing an AddIns will be more helpful to you then to share the code and a complex process to enable it. Let me tell you what you need to do to get the following output {Office 2010, Win 7}.

XLS_20120220_1910
Step 1 – Install NtRsInWords

  • Click here to download the AddIns i.e. NtRsInWords. You can extract the rar and keep it anywhere, but I suggest you to keep at c: \users \{username_or_administrator} \appdata \roaming \microsoft \addins.
  • Click Office Button > Excel Options > Add-Ins > Go {Make sure “Excel Add-Ins” is selected}
  • Click browse > Select NtRsInWords-1.0.186.1-Free-AddIns.xla > OK
Step 2 – Call RsInWords Function

RsInWords(Amount,IsPaise,IsOnly) is the syntax of the function.

  • The first parameter is the amount figure,
  • The second parameter is for paise i.e. if it is 1 then it will add the paise or “Zero” in words to the string, and if it is 0 it will add paise to string only if there is a paise in the figure.
  • The third parameter is 0 or 1 i.e. if it is 1 it will add “Only” word to end of the string.
